Today Des and I came back from the playground and I saw a bird thrashing in the garden.

For the bean stalks, Matt has this mesh fence in the garden. It is hard to see unless you are right in front of it. I assume that this poor woodpecker did not see the fence and got stuck in it.

I called Dan and while I held the bird, Dan cut the fence off him. Poor bird was so scared.

We tried to let him go but he couldn't fly, so we brought him to the Raptor Trust.

I hope they can save him.

I'd like to go and visit the Raptor Trust, it seemed like a really great place.
